LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Feature film "Manchester by the Sea" took a leading of four nominations including one for its ensemble cast at the 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards nomination presentation on Wednesday morning in Los Angeles. Among other films vying for the awards, "Fences" and "Moonlight" got three nominations for each.

The Screen Actors Guild ensemble award is widely considered the equivalent of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences' best picture Oscar.

In addition to Kenneth Lonergan's "Manchester by the Sea," other films picking up nomination for their ensemble casts included Denzel Washington's "Fences," Barry Jenkins' "Moonlight", "Hidden Figures" by writer-director Theodore Melfi and Matt Ross' "Captain Fantastic."

Musical drama film "La La Land," which won out at the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards nomination earlier this week, picked up nominations for both of its leading roles, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, continue showing its possibility for more results.

Black actor Denzel Washington picked up a best actor nomination for his portrayal of a former baseball star trying to support his family as a garbage collector in an adaptation of playwright August Wilson's "Fences." He will be competing with Casey Affleck in "Manchester by the Sea," Andrew Garfield in "Hacksaw Ridge," Ryan Gosling in "La La Land" and Viggo Mortensen in "Captain Fantastic."

Emma Stone, who portrayed an aspiring actress in "La La Land," will be up against Amy Adams ("Arrival"), Emily Blunt ("The Girl on the Train"),Natalie Portman

("Jackie") and Meryl Streep ("Florence Foster Jenkins" ) for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role.

Actresses who garnered nominations for their supporting roles included Viola Davis in "Fences," Naomie Harris in "Moonlight," Nicole Kidman in "Lion," Octavia Spencer in "Hidden Figures" and Michelle Williams in "Manchester by the Sea."

Mahershala Ali ("Moonlight"), Jeff Bridges ("Hell or High Water"), Hugh Grant ("Florence Foster Jenkins" ), Lucas Hedges ("Manchester by the Sea") and Dev Patel ("Lion") were nominated for their supporting roles.

Ali was also nominated as part of the "Hidden Figures" cast, giving him three nominations in all. He has been nominated six times, but this is his first nomination for an individual role.

Netflix showed its muscle, beating out HBO at the number of nominations, 17 vs. 13, in television category. Television dramas scoring nominations for their ensemble casts were "The Crown", "Downton Abbey", "Game of Thrones", "Stranger Things" and "Westworld." The casts of "The Big Bang Theory", "Black-ish", "Modern Family", "Orange Is the New Black" and "Veep" were nominated for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.

The SAG Awards are generally considered a strong predictor of who will pick up Oscar nominations for performing.

Paramount Pictures led the pack of studios with six nominations, with Amazon Studios, Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions close behind with four each.

The SAG Awards carry a prestige all their own as they represent approval by an actor's peers. Separate panels of 2,500 guild members from across the United States are randomly selected to choose nominees for film and TV.

The 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony will be held at the Shrine Exposition Center on Jan. 29, 2017.

One of the biggest cheers President Donald Trump received from supporters watching his inaugural address on Friday was his call to "buy American and hire American."

It was a moment rich in irony.

Many of those supporters were sporting Trump's trademark red "Make America Great Again" baseball caps that were made in China Cheap Nike Air Max 1 Womens , Vietnam and Bangladesh.

Some were horrified when they discovered their Trump hats were foreign made.

Rob Walker, 44, who had driven to Washington from Georgia with his wife Abby, 36 Cheap Nike Air Max 90 Womens , had stopped at a truck stop on the way to buy a "Make America Great Again" cap.

"Oh God, I hope it's not made in China," Abby said, flipping the cap over to check. She looked at its label. "China! Don't tell anyone!"

The Trump hats available for purchase on Trump's official campaign website are made in the United States and cost between $25 and $30 Cheap Nike Air Max Womens , according to the label inside those caps.

But they are also more expensive than the $20 versions sold by street vendors in Washington on Friday.

Joshua Rojas, 25 and Alyssa Young, 28, had traveled from Texas to watch the inauguration. Young was wearing a pink "Make America Great Again" hat.

"I loved it as soon as I saw it. I bought it right over there from one of the vendors for $20 Cheap Air Max 1 Womens ," she said.

So was it made in America?

"I don't know where it was made actually," Young said. "Let me check." She took off the hat to check the label. "Oh no," she cried. "It's made in Vietnam!"

Austin Araco, 22 Cheap Air Max 90 Womens , from Arkansas, was attending his first inauguration and wearing a Trump hat.

"I bought this hat the day he won the election," said Araco. "From his website, of course. I wanted to make sure I supported his fund. I don't want to buy a knock-off. I bought the hat for $30 Cheap Air Max Womens , shipping included."

Victoria Scott, 13 and her brother Andrew Scott, 12, each bought a "Make America Great Again" hat before the inauguration. Victoria's hat cost $25 - and was made in China.

She did not seem to mind.

Andrew then checked his hat. "Banglakesh?" he said after checking the tag. His father corrected him. "You mean Bangladesh."

Robert Morrison from Queens Cheap Nike Air Max 1 Online , New York, was carrying his "Make America Great Again" hat - bought from a street vendor for $20 - and wearing a New York Yankees cap. Both were made in China.

In his speech, Trump struck a fiery, protectionist tone.

"From this moment on Cheap Nike Air Max 90 Online , it's going to be America First," he said. Jerseys China   Jerseys Online   Authentic Jerseys From China   New NBA Jerseys China   Baseball Jerseys From China   Cheap Jerseys China Free Shipping   Cheap Hockey Jerseys Wholesale   Cheap New NFL Jerseys   Cheap Nike NBA Jerseys   Cheap MLB Baseball Jerseys
